Registration Rules & Policies
- Dedicated to the Preservation, Conservation & Advancement of all Avian Species -

      

1. All owners or breeders of any bird (s) applying for UNITED AVIAN REGISTRY (UAR) registration must abide by and follow all of the current UAR registration rules, guidelines, policies, and procedures. Upon approved registration of any bird in accordance with current UAR registration rules, an approved registration applicant becomes a member of the UNITED AVIAN REGISTRY.  Anyone not following or found to be violating any UAR rules, guidelines, policies, and procedures could face penalties up to and including suspension or cancellation of registration privileges.

2. All applications submitted for registration with the UNITED AVIAN REGISTRY should be made on the most recent version of an original UAR application. It is the responsibility of each bird owner / breeder who represents birds as eligible for UAR registration or being UAR registered to insure that each UAR Single Registration Application, Temporary Certificate of Hatch or UAR Registration Certificate is fully completed and given to the new owner at the time the bird / chick is sold or ownership transferred.   All applications must be sent to the UNITED AVIAN REGISTRY - Registration Office at: P.O. Box 2600, Tehachapi, California 93581.


3. The UAR Single Registration Application must be used to register birds whose parents are not registered with UNITED AVIAN REGISTRY. The current bird owner must complete the application and you
must submit 2 photos ( 1 frontal & 1 side view) of your bird with the application.
All UAR Single Registration Applications must be complete with proper documentation, signatures and correct applicable fees for processing by UAR Registration Office.  All applications must be sent to the UNITED AVIAN REGISTRY - Registration Office at: P.O. Box 2600, Tehachapi, California 93581.


4. Any breeder or owner of any bird(s) representing babies / chicks as eligible for or registered with the UNITED AVIAN REGISTRY must have the father and the mother / parent birds of the babies / chicks registered with the UAR prior to representing the babies / chicks as eligible for registration with the UAR.


5. When representing a chick as being UNITED AVIAN REGISTRY registered, the owner / breeder must provide the new owner with a current, completed UAR "Temporary Certificate of Hatch", which will include the parents' UAR registered names and their UAR registration numbers as well as the sex, date of hatch, band number, color of band, microchip number and color the chick.


6. The UNITED AVIAN REGISTRY accepts registration applications and issues certificates based on the honor and integrity of the owner / breeder applicants, and UAR accepts no responsibility for any inaccurate, false, or fraudulent information submitted on registration applications.  Applicants found to be submitting false information or violating any UAR
rules, guidelines, policies, and procedures could face penalties up to and including suspension or cancellation of all registration privileges.

a. The UAR reserves the right to refuse registration to any person or to revoke or suspend the registration privileges of any member who is convicted of a crime of cruelty to animals in any state, province, or country.

b. The UAR reserves the right to refuse registration to any person or to revoke or suspend the registration privileges of any member who acts in a manner that the UAR deems unethical, fraudulent, unscrupulous, untruthful.

c. The UAR reserves the right to investigate any member to insure compliance with UAR registration rules, guidelines, policies, and procedures. Anyone determined to be at fault of violating any of the UAR's registration rules, guidelines, policies, and procedures are responsible for all fees incurred by the UAR investigation, including, but not limited to: DNA parentage testing and any other tests conducted in the UAR's investigation.

d. The UAR reserves the right to refuse future registration to any person or to revoke or suspend the registration privileges of any member who refuses to cooperate with or hinders in any way a UAR investigation or refuses to reimburse UAR investigation fees as described in rule 6c.


7. All UAR registration applicants and UAR registration certificate holders acknowledge that all photos, UAR registration applications (submitted) are the property of the UAR. Furthermore, it is the responsibility of each bird owner / breeder to notify the UAR of any changes in a bird’s registration status such as its death or change in ownership.
 

8. In any case of questionable parentage of a UAR-registered bird(s) or bird(s) submitted for UAR registration, the UNITED AVIAN REGISTRY will recognize and act upon the results of DNA testing to determine the parentage of the bird(s) in question. The DNA testing shall be conducted at a UAR
recognized & approved DNA testing facility, according to current UAR procedures as set forth by UAR, and at the expense of the party contesting or challenging the parentage of the bird(s).

Any breeder or owner of any bird (s), listed on a UAR registration application, who has the parentage of the UAR registered bird (s) challenged, shall agree to submit the bird (s) in question to DNA testing according to UAR guidelines and policies at the challenger’s expense, and agrees to abide by said DNA testing results.

9. UNITED AVIAN REGISTRY registration may be revoked by the UAR on any bird where it has been determined by the UAR that any of the following has occurred:

a. DNA tests demonstrate the bird in question to be of different parentage than as represented on the bird’s application;

b. It has been determined by the UAR Registration Review Board that the bird in question is not of the proper phenotype or not of proper breed type;

c. False information concerning any bird submitted to the UAR on a registration application;

d. The UAR requests DNA or phenotype
Registration Review Board testing and the owner refuses to cooperate as required or as requested by the UAR.
